Behind The Scene

The renowned Constanta based star producer MONOIR is joining forces with one of the label’s latest signings, YNGA, to present a tribute to the meeting between two different worlds and the unification of their musical traditions. With MONOIR’s Eastern European beat, well supported by Arabic flavors in the shape of an oud, folksy Norwegian melodies come with a taste you likely haven’t experienced before. YNGA’s spellbinding and silky yet slightly crisp voice, tells the tale of a longing for someone half the world away but yet too close. Dreamy violins, representing her  traditional Norwegian roots, showcases a contrast to the typical Romanian house and dance pop MONOIR usually serves us. Still, these elements dance so well together that we forget all about distance. One could really call this song a postcard from the one to the other, reading that different backgrounds, cultures and distance doesn’t matter as long as there’s love – and where there’s love and distance, there’s longing, and who can’t relate to the heartbreak that combination can carry. With all of this presented through beautiful melodies, gripping lyrics, melancholy, mystery and a danceable rhythms that preserves the element of hope and feelgood vibes, we can assure you that this treat is one of a kind!

Half the world away but yet too close
The taste is so insane that I need more
So easy to forget
That you are in my head
I’m building paper planes and off I go

Where’d you go Sienna
Where’d you go Sienna
Where’d you go Sienna
Where’d you go Sienna

Half the world away but they don’t know
When I close my eyes I feel us slowly
Touching skin to skin
Our inhibitions wearing thin
But my body stays unchained and I’m still cold

Where’d you go Sienna
Where’d you go Sienna
Where’d you go Sienna
Where’d you go Sienna
